Noise Monitoring Solutions: Reducing Construction Impact on Nearby Communities
Red conducted an initial noise and vibration transfer study at the construction site for a new residential development in Barrowfield, Nelson, to establish suitable targets and assess ground borne vibration transfer in consideration of existing residential spaces.
Targets were remotely monitored using an innovative cloud-based data system with real time alerts. Key construction personnel received these alerts should target levels be reached, allowing works to proceed both without undue disturbance to existing nearby residential spaces and building schedule.
Our initial assessment resulted in alternative piling techniques to be employed which resulted in less noise and vibration transfer to receptor locations.
